Cristiano Ronaldo struck the 700th club goal of his career and Antony broke his first record as a Manchester United player in Sunday night’s 2-1 win over Everton.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was left on the bench by Erik ten Hag but was handed an early introduction after Anthony Martial hobbled off the pitch injured.
By that stage, the scoreline was 1-1… United were quick to respond to going a goal behind after a sloppy mistake from Casemiro in midfield. The Brazilian redeemed himself with a fine through ball to contribute to Ronaldo’s match-winner.
United deserved three points but David de Gea was forced to make several important saves to protect our one-goal lead at the end.
The three points is enough to lift United to fifth in the Premier League and within nine points of leaders Arsenal with a game in hand.
