Renowned football agent Rob Segal has shared his opinion on the recent reports suggesting that Arsenal are interested in signing Marcus Rashford.

Segal believes it is a PR stunt so Marcus Rashford can get a new deal at Manchester United.

“They [Man United] would sell him to Arsenal,” Segal told Caught Offside.

“There was a time when Danny Welbeck was in a similar position and he ended up going to Arsenal.

“It could be a PR stunt though, and if it is, United won’t fall for it. From a footballing perspective though, I am not even sure where he would fit in at Arsenal at the moment.

“I think what Man United will do, knowing he has up to two years left on his contract, is monitor his situation closely but they won’t panic.”

For starters, I don’t for one second think Rashford will leave United for Arsenal. The focus right now should be on his form and how he won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for September. That is why I laughed at Segal’s suggestion that Rashford wouldn’t get into the Arsenal line-up.

Segal should know that stories like these often pop up in the media as nothing more than clickbait. Everyone knows that Rashford’s contract is running out, so he is bound to be get linked to an array of clubs over the next year unless he signs a new deal at Old Trafford.

Rashford is in the process of getting back to his best. The goals are starting to come again.
