Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly unhappy with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.

The pair are said to be at ‘loggerheads’ and sources close to Ronaldo have now leaked snippets of information to Duncan Castles, a journalist with links to super-agent Jorge Mendes.

It is no secret that Ronaldo wanted to leave United in the summer, however, the reason he didn’t is completely down to a lack of interest. None of Europe’s elite clubs made a formal proposal to sign the 37-year-old.

Now, with Ronaldo struggling to get into the line-up, a report suggests the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is critical of Ten Hag’s style at United.

According to The Times, Ronaldo has complained about the training sessions and believes United would be better off playing a different way. He also thinks Ten Hag is stubborn and unnecessarily wedded to his approach that worked so well at Ajax.

The report states: “There are those at Carrington who describe Cristiano Ronaldo often at loggerheads with Ten Hag. They speak of a footballer who complains about the nature and quality of training sessions, and who thinks Manchester United would be better off playing a different way.”

Stretty News verdict – Time for Ronaldo to go

Ronaldo is past it so it would be illogical to change how we play to suit him – at this stage of his career.

The sad reality is Ronaldo would go back to how we were playing last season and the reason for that is because it benefited him. He wants to be the only goalscoring outlet and I think the team would continue to suffer if Ten Hag went down that route.

It’s time for Ronaldo to move on.

  1. Sorry to see it come down to this, but the writer is correct. Ronaldo didn’t do Rangnick any favors last season and in the end it costs us fourth place. It is high time he moved on because he certainly is past his best sell date as witnessed last Summer when no one other team wanted him or his £710 per week salary. He has been used to beinga prima donna for so long and can’t buy into being a team player.

  2. Ronaldo is not a coach therefore must play to instructions, every coach will not be OLE or RALF,he is the reason why these coaches could not deliver and I think it’s a time ETH will remind him his time is up, this is MANCHESTER UNITED and not PORTUGAL NATIONAL TEAM.
