Erik ten Hag has a number of selection headaches ahead of this weekend’s game at Everton, with striker Anthony Martial perhaps providing the most pressing dilemma.
Martial was at the forefront of Ten Hag’s plans during pre-season and the Frenchman was thriving but an untimely injury meant he missed the first two games against Brighton and Brentford.
He made his first appearance against Liverpool, where he assisted Marcus Rashford’s winner. Unfortunately, he sustained another injury in that game and did not make his return until last week. Since then, he has scored three goals in two appearances.
Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to impress this season and it’s highly unlikely that he will keep his place against Everton, meaning that Martial’s first start of the season is likely.
Further back, Jadon Sancho will be lucky to keep his place in the side after two underwhelming performances. Marcus Rashford, the star of the show at Omonia, is expected to start on the left. Antony is a near-given on the right, whilst Bruno Fernandes will captain the side again.

According to reports, Casemiro is in line to make his first start of the season in the Premier League and the Brazilian will almost certainly play alongside Christian Eriksen, one of United’s outstanding performers this season.
Ten Hag seemed to have found his first-choice backline but injuries and poor form could mean a chance for some other players this weekend.
Raphael Varane sustained an ankle injury against Manchester City and missed the game against Omonia as a result – Victor Lindelof is expected to play in his place.
Tyrell Malacia has been the victim of half-time substitutions for the last two games and it’s likely that Luke Shaw will be given the chance to win his place back.
Predicted Man United lineup (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Dalot, Lindelof, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
