Bruno Fernandes signed for Manchester United in January 2020 and quickly became a fans’ favourite. Now the Portugal international is considered to be one of the leaders in the dressing room, wearing the captain’s armband with Harry Maguire out of the team, and he wants to spend many more years at Old Trafford.
The midfielder seemed the feel at home from the moment he signed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he is going from strength to strength under new boss Erik ten Hag. Fernandes has told club media that he has found “stability” in Manchester.
Fernandes said (via ManUtd.com): “I want to be here for many years. I want to have some stability for my family. We like to be here, we like to be in this country, we want to have the family established here and the kids growing up here, having their friends, being happy. That’s the most important thing for us.”
This will be music to the ears of many United fans, who have enjoyed Fernandes’ journey as a red thus far. We just hope he can win some trophies in the coming years to make this chapter of his career even more memorable.
Fernandes will be in action this weekend as United take on rivals Manchester City.
New signing Christian Eriksen has spoken about their connection on the pitch and how players like Fernandes have made it easier for him to settle in at United.
This would be a good time for Fernandes to get back on the scoresheet.
