Jamie Carragher says Lisandro Martinez would be best avoiding Erling Haaland in Sunday’s Manchester derby.
The Sky Sports pundit, who has always been on Martinez’s back over his height (or lack of), thinks that the Argentine would struggle against the Norwegian goalscorer – completely ignoring that he kept him quiet for 90 minutes in the Champions League.
Carragher said: “The best advice Erik ten Hag can offer Lisandro Martinez about dealing with Erling Haaland is to keep away from him.
“It is well known that some of the greatest centre-backs of all time… were less than 6ft.
“The difference is they were pretty much 10 out of 10 in every other department. It is premature to suggest Martinez will be so flawless in every other facet of his game.”
