It was announced a week ago that Christian Eriksen had deservedly won Manchester United’s Player of the Month award for September.

The 30-year-old has been in incredible form for club and country this season. It is no wonder that he has become such a permanent fixture in Erik ten Hag’s side, forming an unlikely partnership with Scott McTominay in the middle.

To McTominay’s credit, Fred and new signing Casemiro have been unable to get into the team, but Eriksen is the player who has produced moments frequently in the final third.

The Dane’s passing has been subline and he is already reminding me of Paul Scholes, and I don’t think I can pay Eriksen a bigger compliment than that.

After returning from the recent international break, Eriksen collected his POTM award at Carrington.

As confirmed on the official Manchester United website, Eriksen amassed a whopping 62% of the vote, with Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho sharing the remaining 38%.

This means our first two POTM awards this season have gone to new signings, with Lisandro Martinez winning the award for August.

Here’s to many more awards!
