Bruno Fernandes has become the latest player to hail Christian Eriksen’s impact at Manchester United, with the Danish international continuing to exceed all expectations.
Eriksen was one of Erik ten Hag’s first signings of the summer and initially, it looked he could have been brought in to provide cover for Fernandes but that has not been the case.
Instead, he has been used in a deeper role and thus far, it has worked to perfection for Ten Hag. Eriksen learned the role under Antonio Conte and now, he has already become one of United’s most important players.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s huge Manchester derby, Fernandes has praised Eriksen for his impact and explained how the Dane makes things easier for him.

“It’s really good to play with Christian [Eriksen], he’s a player that can find the passes, find the pockets and obviously make my game easier because he finds me when I move between the lines. It’s something that’s not easy to do,” Fernandes is quoted as saying by the Metro.
“I’m really happy to have him on the team because, as I’ve said before, he’s a quality player. He’s a player who’s showed in the past that he has really good qualities in the Premier League, in the Italian league, even for his national team”
SN’s verdict…
Roughly three years ago, fans were curious over whether Paul Pogba and Fernandes would combine to make up a devastating midfield. That didn’t quite come off.
The pair did strike an understanding but what Fernandes has found with Eriksen behind him is different and most importantly, it’s sustainable and balanced in the long term.
Ten Hag will now be hoping that both players stay fit for the rest of the season as there are no like-for-like replacements in the current squad.
