Manchester United will join the race to sign AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham, according to reports.

The 24-year-old England international signed for Roma from Chelsea last summer and has reached new heights with his development in Italy.

A report from Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claims Abraham wants to return to England – and they credit Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea with an interest in his signature.

It’s a strange one because Abraham left Chelsea because he couldn’t get regular game time at Stamford Bridge, whereas he is one of the first names on the team sheet under Jose Mourinho in Rome.

United will be in the market for a new centre forward next summer and I wouldn’t be surprised if Abraham because a serious target over the coming months. Cristiano Ronaldo is not a spring chicken and we don’t have a lot of depth in the position right now.

Last season he managed 17 goals in Serie A but all eyes will be on his this year to see if he can replicate that form for a second consecutive campaign.
