Rio Ferdinand sympathises with Harry Maguire following another below-par performance.
The former Manchester United defender took to Twitter last night after England’s 3-3 draw in the Nations League, with Harry Maguire once again under the spotlight.
“I feel for Harry… every mistake being punished & scrutinized – comes with the territory though. Needs to be strong mentally to get through this! Playing with no games at this level always leaves u open.”

The Three Lions were relegated to League B and the game brought mixed emotions to Gareth Southgate’s side.
Germany took the lead in the 52nd minute after a penalty from Ilkay Gundogan, which was followed by a lovely finish from Kai Havertz. The problem for Harry Maguire is that he was at fault for both goals.
For the first, he gave the ball away to Jamal Musiala before bringing him down for a penalty. He also gave the ball away in the buildup for Havertz’s stunning finish.
Speaking to Virgin Media Sport after the match, former Premier League player and Republic of Ireland international Damien Delaney noted the amount of abuse Maguire was likely to face as a result.
"Your heart does sink because you think the amount of abuse this guy is going to get over the next few days."

It’s been a difficult time for Maguire. His confidence must be at an all-time low.
