Marcus Rashford nominated for Premier League Player of the Month award

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for September.

The nominees were announced this morning and we were delighted to see Rashford feature amongst the league’s best players this month.

Rashford scored two goals and registered as many assists throughout the month, but he missed the previous two games in the Europa League after sustaining an injury in the 3-1 win over Arsenal.

That came as a blow to Rashford because it meant he would miss out on a place in the latest England squad.

Still, that has not stopped him getting the credit he deserves, with Rashford up for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

United are hopeful that Rashford will be back fit in time for the Manchester derby, so it’s a good thing that he won’t be risked over the international break because we need to see him build on his form in front of goal.

Meanwhile, Rashford was not nominated for September’s Manchester United Player of the Month award. That will go to either Christian Eriksen, Jadon Sancho or Raphael Varane, who were all overlooked for the Premier League award.

The Premier League shortlist includes Bournemouth’s Philip Billing, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey.
