Marcus Rashford fitness update: United hopeful of return for Manchester derby

Marcus Rashford missed Manchester United’s last two games after picking up an injury in the 3-1 win over Arsenal, but it sounds like he could return in time for the derby against Manchester City.

According to ESPN, Manchester United are hopeful of having Marcus Rashford back fit for the Manchester derby next month following the international break.

Injury meant Rashford was not available for Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad, but there was no place for Jadon Sancho, despite the winger’s impressive form for United this season.

Mark Ogden claims medical staff do not believe the injury is serious.

The report suggests medical staff are being more cautious with Anthony Martial, who has been ruled out with an achilles injury since August.

The sooner United have all their attacking players back fit the better. Erik ten Hag hasn’t had that luxury yet, but when he does I expect the Red Devils to click fully in the final third.

United’s game against Leeds United was postponed at the weekend and we now have to wait for the international break to end.

It’s going to be a slow two weeks!
