The first international break of the season is upon us and a two-week break from Premier League football will commence, even though four weeks will have passed by the time United are in domestic action again after two games were postponed.
The short break will allow Erik ten Hag to continue with his steady rebuild of United and the last couple of weeks have offered real encouragement that United are progressing.
Many of his first-team regulars will, however, be away on international duty. We list every single player below, as per the official Manchester United website.
Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are the only United players to be called up by Gareth Southgate, with loanee Dean Henderson also making the squad after Jordan Pickford pulled out through injury.
Jadon Sancho was surprisingly left out by Southgate, whilst Marcus Rashford was unavailable for selection.
Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Diogo Dalot have all been called up by manager Fernando Santo as Portugal prepare for games against the Czech Republic and Spain.
Ronaldo will aim to get back in the goalscoring groove whilst Dalot is hopeful of earning a starting place in time for this winter’s World Cup, having featured during last year’s European Championship.

Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen have formed an unlikely partnership at the heart of Ten Hag’s side and the pair have been called up by Scotland and Denmark respectively.
Facundo Pellistri, who had the start of the season disrupted by an unfortunate ankle injury sustained during pre-season, has been called up by Uruguay whilst Raphael Varane has joined the French national team.
Louis van Gaal is continuing to show faith in Tyrell Malacia after the young left-back was called up for action by the Netherlands and Swedish pair Anthony Elanga and Victor Lindelof have also been called up.
Martin Dubravka is in line to feature for Slovakia whilst United loanee Alex Telles is one of four Reds to be called up by Brazil. Casemiro, Antony and Fred are also in Tite’s squad and they will all be hopeful of a starting place in Qatar.
Hannibal Mejbri will continue his rapid rise in the Tunisian national team whilst Lisandro Martinez will look to impress for Argentina.
United are back in action in 13 days when they make the trip to Manchester City, with Ten Hag aiming to make it five wins in a row and hopefully climb into the top four.
