Alvaro Fernandez made his first senior start on loan at Preston North End over the weekend.
On Saturday, the 19-year-old played 69 minutes in their 2-0 loss at home to Sheffield United.
Last season he earned the U23s player of the year award, so there are high hopes for Fernandez at Old Trafford. The coaches will be hoping that he gets plenty of first team football to develop his game again ahead of next season.
The Championship is a high standard and I am all for sending our most talented young players down there.
