Manchester United Women beat Reading 4-0 in the Women’s Super League opener, going level with Arsenal at the top of the standings after the first game week.

The aim this season is the same as last – which we were unable to achieve. That is to qualify for the Champions League.

The ladies started their campaign with a convincing win and new defender Maya Le Tissier made her debut one to remember with two goals.

On top of that, captain Katie Zelem made her 100th appearance — scoring one and assisting two.

Alessia Russo headed in the fourth goal before half-time to seal off an important win for Marc Skinner’s side.
