England manager Gareth Southgate has named his England squad to face Italy and Germany in the Nations League.
There is good news for Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson, who gets a call up after impressing at Nottingham Forest this summer. He will get a chance to feature in England’s last two games before November’s World Cup in Qatar.
Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are both in the squad despite losing their places in the United line-up, but there is no room for Jadon Sancho, who has been in terrific form this season.
West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen gets the nod instead.
There’s no room for Marcus Rashford, however, the Manchester United forward sustained an injury and hasn’t been training for his club this week.

SN’s verdict on Sancho missing out
Sancho was a regular England squad member until the Euro 2020 final when he and Rashford both missed penalties in the decisive shoot out against Italy.
The winger’s form dropped last season and his England prospects began to diminish.
But the 22-year-old has been much better in a Red shirt this time around, yet Southgate continues to overlooked him.
This is bound to be very disappointing for Sancho.
