WSL opening weekend of fixtures postponed – Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur

The opening weekend of the Women’s Super League season has been postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Manchester United Women were supposed to open their WSL campaign with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. The game was set to be held at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which boasts a capacity of just over 60,000.

However, all fixtures this weekend are off, with The FA releasing a statement via Twitter:

Manager Marc Skinner has already held press conference ahead of the match, prior to the Queen’s passing on Thursday afternoon, when he revealed new signing Rachel Williams would miss the game due to a knee injury.
