Eric Bailly made headlines earlier this week when he accused Manchester United of bias towards English players when selecting the team.
The Ivorian said that United should avoid doing that in the future to give everyone a chance and also went on to admit that he hopes Erik ten Hag can change that dynamic.
Bailly left United this summer as he joined Marseille on an initial season-long loan but that could end up being a permanent deal depending on how many appearances he makes for the French giants.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s Europa League encounter with Real Sociedad, where Ten Hag is aiming for a fifth consecutive win in all competitions, the Dutchman was asked about Bailly’s curious remarks.

“I can’t say nothing about that. I wasn’t in charge (last season) so I don’t know the situation.” Ten Hag told a journalist when asked about Bailly’s interpretation of team selections at United, as seen above via Football Daily.
“Not for me,” Ten Hag said confidently when further pressed on whether a player’s nationality would influence his selections.
Bailly spent most of his six years at United recovering from various injuries and although he had an impressive first campaign, he never stayed fit for long enough to earn a permanent place in the side.
