(Video) Erik ten Hag explains his ‘high standards’ after Arsenal win

Erik ten Hag has turned it all around at Manchester United as he oversaw yet another victory on Sunday evening, with Arsenal seeing their five-game unbeaten run come to an end.

A first-half opener from Antony was followed by two well-taken goals by Marcus Rashford after the interval, giving United a mere three-point gap to the league leaders.

The spectacular turn in fortunes comes just weeks after United succumbed to an embarrassing defeat at Brentford and Ten Hag has now delved deeper into his ‘high standards’ after the Arsenal game.

“That’s a process. You have to live, every day, high standards,” Ten Hag told Football Daily when asked how he has lifted the players from the poor start to the season.

“That is my demands, my coaches demands and I think also the players in our team has that demands. We have already many players in the team who win a lot of trophies and they have to bring that in the dressing room.

“Every day, get the best out of you. Demand it from each other and then we will improve even more.”

Ten Hag will now be aiming to extend United’s winning streak to five games as they kick off their Europa League campaign on Thursday, with Real Sociedad coming to town.

The fixture could offer the Dutchman the chance to field some of the players who have lost their place recently, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw among those players.
