Patrice Evra brands Manchester United new signing a ‘pit bull’

Former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is a fan of new signing Lisandro Martinez.

I mean, aren’t we all? The Argentine is a brilliant footballer and motivator on the pitch, so I am not surprised to see him quickly become a favourite amongst fans.

Evra has called Martinez a “pit bull” after his recent performances after he put in another impressive display against Leicester City on Thursday night to keep Jamie Vardy quiet.

Together with Raphael Varane, a formidable partnership is forming, and it has been years since United fans could say that about a centre-back pairing in the team.

Let’s hope it lasts!

Furthermore, Martinez was rewarded for his fine form this week when he was voted United’s Player of the Month for August. Now Evra is waxing lyrical over the 24-year-old’s immediate impact at the club.

Speaking to Betfair, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, Evra said: “Lisandro Martinez is a pit bull, he’s going to give his life and that’s what we need.

“I’ve played with Gabriel Heinze, Carlos Tevez, Paulo Dybala, Lucas Bernardi, and South Americans play with passion and they give everything, it’s like they are going to war.

“I remember when Martinez signed for United, he said every game is important, and people started to judge him too soon. I’m not surprised with what he is doing and how well he is performing.”

I’m already excited about the fire he will bring to the game against Arsenal later this evening.

Unleash the pit bull.
