It’s setting up for a quiet deadline day for Manchester United in terms of incomings.
Antony and Martin Dubravka will take United’s tally of players signing to six but it now sounds unlikely that a right-back will join before deadline day.
Barcelona’s Sergino Dest, who played under Ten Hag at Ajax, was seen as option that could replace Aaron Wan-Bissaka as well as push Diogo Dalot for a place in the starting line-up.
However, Jonathan Shrager claims Ten Hag has called the United States international to inform him that a deal is not possible before Thursday night’s 11pm deadline.
Dest has been informed by Erik Ten Hag that it is not possible to sign him during this transfer window, because Aaron Wan-Bissaka is staying at Manchester United. Meanwhile, Villarreal are still trying to negotiate a loan deal for Sergiño, but this is being described as difficult

Shrager tweeted: “Dalot has been informed by Erik Ten Hag that it is not possible to sign him during this transfer window, because Aaron Wan-Bissaka is staying at Manchester United. Meanwhile, Villarreal are trying to negotiate a loan deal for Sergino, but this is being described as difficult.”
This comes down to Aaron Wan-Bissaka staying at the club.
Reports suggest United turned down offers from Crystal Palace and West Ham for the right-back, although we can only presume neither club made an appealing offer for the 24-year-old.
Shrager understands Villarreal are still trying to negotiate a loan deal for the former Ajax full-back.
Either rubbish journalism or someone cannot type!
Why would DALOT be informed he cannot be signed? He already is a United player.
