Manchester United decide against loaning out Zidane Iqbal

Manchester United have reportedly decided against the idea of loaning out Zidane Iqbal.

The 19-year-old impressed during pre-season and Erik ten Hag is keen for him to remain involved with the senior squad rather than go on loan.

The powers that be at Carrington seemingly think that Iqbal will benefit more from being at United for the coming months, but Jonathan Shrager claims they will review their decision again in January when there will be more opportunities to go out on loan.

Shrager adds there is a good chance Iqbal will feature in the Europa League and cup games this season. He tweeted: “Current plan for Zidane Iqbal is to stay at Manchester United, continue to train with first team whilst playing in some U21 games. A good chance he’ll feature in Europa League and/or cup games, and then the club will review it for a potential loan in January. Ten Hag is a big fan.”

Iqbal enjoyed an impressive campaign last term making 18 appearances in the Premier League 2, scoring 2 goals, and he is currently viewed ahead of yellow academy star Charlie Savage in the pecking order.

That raises the question: Is Savage staying at United or going on loan?
