Cristiano Ronaldo may have bid farewell to Manchester United fans after Saturday’s 1-0 win away to Southampton, according to one reporter.
There has been speculation surrounding Ronaldo all summer because of the 37-year-old’s wishes to play Champions League football this season. That won’t be happening at Old Trafford, but Ronaldo has not got a flurry of clubs showing interest in his signature.
Ronaldo’s excessive wages don’t help. Nor does his age or the idea that a coach will have to change his preferred style of play to suit a player who is coming to the end of his career.
James Robson of Goal has suggested that it looked like Ronaldo may have been saying goodbye to the travelling support at St. Mary’s yesterday.
Was this Ronaldo’s farewell to United fans?
Ten Hag still not ruling out his departure.
It’s an awkward position for #mufc and Ronaldo, with both relying on external forces to reach a definitive conclusion. pic.twitter.com/8w65MkziPK— James Robson (@jamesalanrobson) August 28, 2022

With deadline day looming and United playing Leicester City on Thursday, do you think Ronaldo has played his last game for United?
