A great cross by Diogo Dalot volleyed home by Bruno Fernandes.
Manchester United have the lead at St. Mary’s thanks to an opening goal by Fernandes, who captains the side in Harry Maguire’s absence. The England centre-half has been benched for a second consecutive game and Fernandes is making solid claims for the captain’s armband.
The Reds started to play on the front foot in the second half and Southampton have allowed United to find space out wide. It was only a matter of time before we took advantage of it.
United are now playing with more urgency and deserve to be ahead.

Hopefully we can build on this lead and secure three points. Southampton fans are desperate for a response.
