Manchester United on brink of £84m deal to sign Antony

Manchester United are edging closer to completing the signing of Ajax winger Antony.

According to The Sun, Manchester United have reached an £84m agreement with Ajax for the Brazil international.

It comes as brilliant news for Erik ten Hag who listed Antony as his primary attacking target this summer, especially when we appear to have missed the boat for Frenkie de Jong.

Ten Hag was responsible for getting the best out of Antony at Ajax following his move from Sao Paulo back in 2020, and he obviously believes that the player is ready for a move to the Premier League. Otherwise, there is no way he would demand the board to push hard for a player with such a high asking price.

Antony to become four Brazil international in United’s squad

This is a player who can lift bums off seats at Old Trafford and it sounds like the proposed deal will be made up of £74 million up front with another £10 million included in add-ons.

Antony could become United’s fifth signing of the transfer window after Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.

We could have four Brazil internationals in the squad this season, including Fred, Casemiro and Alex Telles.

  1. Antony will definitely be a very good signing for us especially with his dribbling skills and dazzling pace. Manchester United lack a player of this calibre upfront. If only we can sign a solid right back now, that would be great for the team.
