Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is on the verge of joining Marseille on loan.
The Ivory Coast international was subject to a move all summer following the arrival of Lisandro Martinez.
The Argentine has come in as a starter at centre-back and it’s now up to either Raphael Varane or Harry Maguire to cement a place alongside the former Ajax defender.
However, United have agreed a deal with Marseille that will see the Ligue 1 side pay his full salary for the season, as well as a loan fee.
It’s a good deal as far as United are concerned and it is understood Marseille will include an obligation to buy Bailly if they qualify for the Champions League.
The 28-year-old is set to undergo his medical today and he has been pictured holding a club scarf upon arrival in the oldest city in France, courtesy of @Mode5548648.
