Casemiro set to be unveiled to fans at Old Trafford before Liverpool game

Manchester United are set to officially announce Casemiro as their fourth summer signing.

Following two back-to-back defeats it was even more clear that Erik ten Hag desperately needs some quality additions in the transfer market. The manager must be fully aware of the enormity of the task at hand after spending more time with his new squad.

Ralf Rangnick warned that the club needs open-heart surgery, but Ten Hag will hope his philosophy is at least bought into over the coming season. He needs to start his reign somewhere and we hoped it wouldn’t begin with two losses in the league.

Fans can tell that the entire squad is short on confidence and quality, so major additions are required if Ten Hag is to have any chance competing with the best teams in the Premier League, who were miles ahead of United last term.

10 days remain until transfer deadline day and United are trying to get a deal done for Antony, while links to Cody Gakpo and Frenkie de Jong continue to spread through mainstream media.

One signing already confirmed by United is Casemiro, who won five Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles at Real Madrid, so we know there’s some steel being added to the midfield soon.

The Brazil international won’t make his debut against Liverpool due to visa issues, but he is set to be unveiled prior to kick-off, despite plans for anti-Glazer protests from an angered fanbase. Make sure to check out the markets ahead of the game to get the best odds before claiming your Boylesports sign up offer, especially while United are the underdogs.

Before flying to Manchester, Casemiro held a press conference at Real Madrid to say his final goodbyes. Club president Florentino Perez and Carlo Ancelotti were present. Casemiro’s family members were present to celebrate the 18 trophies he won during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Like Raphael Varane, Casemiro’s former Real Madrid teammate, the Brazil star is set to get the same sort of welcome on the pitch at Old Trafford. It proved popular a year ago – but tensions are high right now with the anti-Glazer protests. Maybe the club should give him a heads up that the Glazer family are not popular around Manchester.

We hope that Casemiro can make his debut away to Southampton next Saturday and he is set to be given the number 18 shirt, which was previously worn by Paul Scholes.

Let’s hope he can sort out that midfielder mess of ours!
