Gary Neville hits out at investment firm in talks with Glazers over partial sale of Manchester United

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has continued criticising the Glazer family amid reports of a potential partial sale to US investment firm Apollo.

Widespread reports suggest that the Glazer family are considering the prospect of selling a minority stake in the club. That tells me that some of the siblings want to cash in, while Joel and Avram remain majority owners.

That won’t get rid of the Glazers – anytime soon at least – and something needs to be done to ensure to the club goes to the right owner next time. Not like in 2005 when the concerns of United fans were ignored by the Premier League and at club level.

The Glazers have held exclusive talks with Apollo over a possible agreement, as per the Daily Mail, but Neville is against the idea and right so. We don’t want any hedge funds or investment firms getting their dirty hands on our club.

Neville tweeted the following this morning: “If the reports are true that the Glazer family are ready to part sell ahead of a full sale it’s totally unacceptable that this is to a US investment fund.

“Apollo have been mentioned but they need to know they will not be welcomed in Manchester.”

It goes without saying that we all agree with Neville. The Glazers and Apollo are the worst of two evils. Leaves from the same branch.
