Ten Hag repeats himself to stress Ronaldo is in his plans

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was once again asked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the press conference this afternoon. He can’t go anywhere without being asked about the Portuguese star.

“I repeat the same – Cristiano is in our plans. That is what I can say,” Ten Hag told reporters, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“I don’t know why he is the focus. It was the team performance and the whole team attitude, including Ronaldo.”

It doesn’t help when Ronaldo is dropping teasers about tell-all interviews across social media. That only gave journalists another reason to ask about the 37-year-old and I don’t think keeping him around for the rest of the season would be a good idea.

I mean, like Gary Neville said on Twitter earlier this week, if Ronaldo has something to say… just say it! United fans deserve the truth and teasing more drama only turns us into an even bigger circus.

It was bad enough when Ronaldo returned for pre-season training later than everyone else and, on his first day back at Carrington, he arrived with his agent Jorge Mendes sat in the passenger seat.

It’s all become a big joke.
