Marseille open talks to sign Manchester United defender

Eric Bailly could leave Manchester United this summer.

It is no secret that the Ivorian is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

As things stand, Bailly, who is box office at times, has interest from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.

The Manchester Evening News claims the Ligue 1 side has opened talks for Bailly.

There’s really no point in him sticking around since he is behind a range of defenders in the pecking order and 28-year-old professional footballers should be playing regular football.

Bailly is currently fifth-choice centre-back at United following the signing of Lisandro Martinez. There’s surely no way back into the team for him at this stage?

This is a player United rewarded with a new deal in April 2021 but now they’re looking to cash him in, a year later. That tells you everything you need to know about how our club is being run.

The structure around contracts is a complete mess.
