Manchester United are continuing their search for a striker amid Anthony Martial’s injury history and the increasing doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at the club.
Previously, United had been reluctant to sell Ronaldo but earlier on Tuesday, it emerged that the club had softened that stance and are now warming to the idea of parting ways with the 37-year-old.
Earlier this week, Atletico Madrid star Matheus Cunha became the latest forward to be linked with a move to United as a potential replacement for Ronaldo.
Now, Olympique Lyon forward Moussa Dembele has once again been paired with an Old Trafford transfer. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to United for several years.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag is looking to sign a striker before next month’s transfer deadline and Dembele is an option the club is considering.
As per the report, a late swoop for Dembele has not been ruled out amid the Frenchman’s expiring contract at Lyon. The 26-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract but has already rejected a move to Everton.
SN’s verdict…
Dembele scored 21 goals in 30 Ligue 1 appearances last season and has proved himself as an able goalscorer but ultimately, his stocks have dramatically fallen over the last couple of years.
It would, however, scream of United to sign yet another player with a downward trajectory. It would also be the cheap way out of United’s troubles.
Lyon signed Alexandre Lacazette this summer and have seemingly already replaced Dembele, making an exit increasingly likely. It remains to be seen whether United follow up on their interest.
