Manchester United have been slow to act this summer but the board hopes to secure a deal for Adrien Rabiot before the next Premier League fixture.
Usually, at the start of the season, we are all looking forward to facing Liverpool and seeing how our new signings cope in the biggest fixture English football has to offer. That is not the case after watching Manchester United lose their first two games of the season against Brighton and Brentford.
It’s unlikely that any signings between now and next week will make any difference to our pattern of results when United take on Liverpool. Sorry Adrien Rabiot, you are a good footballer but not quite superman.
According to the Telegraph, talks have taken place over the transfer of the France international, and United believe he could be in place to take on Liverpool next Monday.
That seems like a stretch when you consider how slow United have been this summer – not just to strike deals, but to get paperwork and visas approved. That is probably because every big decision still needs a green light from Florida.
It was recently reported that United were making progress on Rabiot’s personal terms.
Moreover, Erik ten Hag seems to have a strict policy about getting players prepared for match fitness, so there is little to suggest he will be thrown in. The Dutchman could change his ways after losing the first two games of the season.
Let us know in the comments section if you think Rabiot would be a good signing for United.
Let’s give him a positive attitude and is early to complain about out couch.
