Barcelona are in the market for a new right-back and reports suggest two Manchester United players have make their shortlist of targets.
The La Liga giants apparently have their eye on Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as Xavi looks to make another signing this summer, despite Barcelona’s questionable financial situation.
They have tried to push Frenkie de Jong out of the club and activated four levers to tackle a crisis, but that has not stopped them making big name signings like Robert Lewandowski.
Journalist Gerard Romero often provides updates on Barcelona via his Twitch stream and there was something on offer last night that is of interest to United fans.
Sadly, it wasn’t an update to say De Jong is close to agreeing on terms with United, but Barcelona has identified Dalot and Wan-Bissaka as targets for their right-back role.
I would imagine both are closer to last resort options before anyone gets excited.
United have been previously linked with Sergino Dest, who played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax before joining Barcelona, and he could offer us something different at right-back if a swap deal could be agreed between the clubs.
Dalot has already been outlined as United’s starting right-back by Ten Hag, although I would like to see us strengthen that area before the transfer window shuts.
