Paddy Power pay out on Ten Hag being the first Premier League manager sacked this season

Paddy Power have paid out on Erik ten Hag being the first Premier League manager to get sacked this season after Manchester United started the 2022/23 campaign with two consecutive defeats – only to sit at the bottom of the league table.

It would only be fair to say Thomas Frank’s side put the sword to United from the very start. The Red Devils struggled to breathe whenever Brentford pressed high, and we couldn’t find a way to play out from the back without getting caught in possession.

Bookmakers Paddy Power have seen enough already and aren’t convinced Ten Hag will last very long in the job. Hence why they are paying out on Ten Hag becoming the first Premier League manager to get the sack in the top-flight this season.

A tweet from @paddypower reads: “With Man Utd losing 4-0 at half time to Brentford, we have PAID OUT on Erik ten Hag to be the first Premier League manager to get the sack.”

This sort of kneejerk response will send millions of clicks to Paddy Power and potentially lead to more customers for the online bookmakers. Then we reach territory over gambling companies and the negative effect they have on football fans, so I find it difficult to laugh at any humour that comes from these accounts.

This is a pathetic cry for attention and I don’t suspect Ten Hag will be the first manager to face the axe this summer.

Ten Hag in, Glazers out!
