Manchester United launched a pursuit to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot last week.

We took a closer look at the France international and why his mum and agent Veronique comes across so protective of her son, especially in such a cut-throat industry like football.

According to The Times, United are making progress in talks over personal terms for Rabiot.

The report states United have already agreed a fee worth at least £15 million with Juventus for Rabiot.

United will be desperate to get a deal over the line following Saturday’s 4-0 defeat against Brentford.

Rabiot would be a huge improvement on some of the midfielders we already have at the club. The likes of Scott McTominay or Fred will find it harder to get into the team as a result and that can only be a good thing.

At the same time, it’s hard not to have concerns over bringing another big ego into the dressing room, but that is a call for Erik ten Hag to make rather than some writer on the internet.

The report also states that Ten Hag told the squad to train on Sunday, despite initially being given the day off.

They don’t need a day off after losing 4-0 to Brentford.
