Frenkie de Jong has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer. Where do things stand?

Good morning all!

It feels like Manchester United are taking a scatter gun approach to the transfer window yet again – running around desperately seeking alternative targets for Frenkie de Jong.

And, no matter how they gloss it up, it won’t reflect well on Richard Arnold and John Murtough if the recruitment team fail to deliver Erik ten Hag’s primary transfer target.

I’m not convinced Adrien Rabiot was discussed at the beginning of the transfer window when there was talk Juventus wanted to pay him off to end his current deal. It’s complete madness that the Italian giants could pocket near £20m from United for the player.

I heard that Ten Hag was ‘livid’ about the progress United were making on potential deals a week ago, and you can expect that his mood will get worse if things don’t improve by next week.
