(Video) Journalist slams ‘complicit’ Ten Hag for ‘shambolic’ transfer window

Manchester United are taking an absolute beating from every possible angle.

The Red Devils, overseen by former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag, have already lost their opening Premier League game.

Last Sunday saw United beaten 2-1 by Graham Potter’s Brighton and Hove Albion, but ten Hag’s problems extend far beyond the field of play.

Despite having already signed three senior players this summer, including Lisandro Martinez from Ajax, Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord and free agent Christian Eriksen, the 20-time league winners are in the market for new additions.

Expecting the club to replicate high-profile targets, such as Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong, the fanbase were left shell-shocked after recent reports suggested the hierarchy are trying to sign 33-year-old Marko Arnautovic from Bologna (Sky Sports Italy).

Although more recent reports have since confirmed United have shelved plans to sign the former Stoke City and West Ham forward (The Athletic), it will take a while for fans to forgive and forget.

In fact, reacting, not only to United’s pursuit of Arnautovic but also to the transfer window as a whole, MEN journalist Samuel Luckhurst has torn into the club, saying their summer has been ‘shambolic’ while also pinning some of the blame on ten Hag.
