It’s set to be a big season for Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot.

The Portugal international is expected to be United’s first-choice right-back for the upcoming season.

Dalot, 23, made 28 appearances across all competitions lasty season – mostly in the second half of the season under Ralf Rangnick.

“I set my targets and it’s always about trying to help the team as much as I can,” said Diogo in an interview with club media.

“That’s what I work hard for every day. [I want] to be an option for the manager and I always want to step up my game.

“I always want to be better than what I was before and this season I want to step up my game individually.

“Collectively, hopefully, we can reach the end of the season with some trophies.”

Dalot is only likely to recieve competition for a place from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who I can’t ever see fitting in Ten Hag’s preferred system, so it makes sense to persist with the former FC Porto full-back for now.
