New signings settling in well at United, says Malacia

Tyrell Malacia is happy at how he and fellow summer arrivals Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez are settling in at Old Trafford.

The new season is almost upon us and everyone should be exciting by what the new signings will bring to the team. For instance, Malacia is a prospect for the future but I think he will push Luke Shaw for a place at left-back this season, especially if the England international underperforms for a second consecutive campaign.

We didn’t get to see as much of the other two signings on tour – but we all know what Eriksen brings to the table. The Dane oozes class and I’m tipping him to provide lots of ammunition for our forward players.

Malacia has explained how he’s been able to strike up a relationship with the other two signings.

“I knew Licha [Martinez] because I played against him and it’s great to get to know him properly now,” Malacia told MUTV. “Christian is the same – he speaks Dutch also and he’s a great guy. We are all settling in and it was great to play in pre-season.”

The former Feyenoord academy graduate was satisfied with his performances over the summer. He added: “There is always room for improvement and I am talking a lot with the coaches who are helping me a lot. I always want to develop myself and I’m just really happy to be here.”

It will be intriguing to see how Malacia and other players fit into Ten Hag’s new team. He sounds like someone who is buying into what the manager is trying to do.

“The manager is very involved in training and everyone likes that a lot and we are enjoying it. We can all learn a lot from him and it’s good for us all.”
