Manchester United have no issue with Ronaldo leaving Old Trafford early

Cristiano Ronaldo raised a few eyebrows when he left Old Trafford early on Sunday.

It was his first game back after missing the pre-season tour in Thailand and Australia, so Erik ten Hag was understandably reluctant to give Ronaldo more than 45 minutes on the pitch.

The new manager took Ronaldo off at half-time and the star was not seen sat in the dugout for the second half, after being replaced by Amad Diallo, United’s only scorer in the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

However, we didn’t know is that Ronaldo wasn’t the only player to leave Old Trafford early…

As reported by Sky Sports via the Mirror, United initially refused to comment on Sunday but they have now clarified the club has no issue with Ronaldo leaving early as he was one of several players to do the same.

Pictures went viral across social media as Ronaldo took an early exit.

SN’s verdict

When you arrive as a team, you should leave as a team.

It’s an insult to the players who went out to face Rayo Vallecano in the second half.

Do some of these players think they’re too big for that? They should be reminded about how poor things got last season.
