Rio Ferdinand and his wife Kate have sadly announced the heartbreaking news of the loss of their unborn child.
Kate shared the news with her 1.4 million Instagram followers, saying she was “devastated and heartbroken.”
Mrs Ferdinand wrote: “The last time I was in this hospital I was having Cree, but this time it was because our baby had no heartbreak in our 12 week scan and I had to have surgery.
“We were so excited & planning a space for our new baby in our family, we just couldn’t wait to share our news with you all, but unfortunately sometimes life just doesn’t go as we plan.”

The couple, who have been married since 2019, already share a son named Cree.
We send them both our best wishes during this extremely difficult time.
