Lisandro Martinez has become Manchester United’s third signing of the summer after the defender penned a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old will now reunite with Erik ten Hag, with whom he enjoyed a successful three-year stint at Ajax before completing a big-money move to United.
Supporters could watch him in action for the first time this weekend in friendlies against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano and he has already issued his first message to his new fans, as seen below.

“Hi fans, Lisandro Martinez here,” the defender said on Manchester United’s YouTube channel. “I can’t wait to play in Old Trafford with your support, for sure, I will give my heart every game. I hope to see you soon.”
Martinez was crowned Ajax Player of the Year last season and his relationship with Ten Hag could be crucial for United. It will be fascinating to see whether he breaks into the side immediately or if he is eased into life in Manchester.
