Manchester United have completed their third signing of the summer as Lisandro Martinez reunites with Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, having spent three years with the Dutchman at Ajax.
Martinez’s arrival comes over a week after it was announced that United and Ajax had reached an agreement for the 24-year-old but the transfer has finally been completed.
Martinez, nicknamed ‘The butcher of Amsterdam’, has reacted to signing a five-year deal and the club has now released the first pictures of the defender in the new home and away kit.

United have two friendlies remaining before the Premier League curtain-raiser against Brighton on August 7 and it will be fascinating to see which one Martinez plays in.
United face Atletico Madrid in Oslo on Saturday before finishing up pre-season against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford the following deal – and it’s reasonable to argue that the new United boss will pick two different lineups for the two games.
More likely than not, one of the sides will be close to what Ten Hag is planning on using against Brighton.
