Marcus Rashford enjoying first pre-season under Ten Hag

Marcus Rashford has looked bright on tour this summer as he prepares for his first season under Erik ten Hag.

The Manchester United forward has more doubters than ever before, but his pre-season form will be encouraging for Erik ten Hag ahead of the new season, especially since he was back amongst the goals. It’s a bonus to hear he has enjoyed himself this summer.

Last summer, Rashford missed a penalty in the Euro 2020 final shootout against Italy, and then his most challenging campaign to date followed.

Rashford did not feature for United until mid-October due to shoulder surgery and he forgot how to contribute goals.

As fans, we’ll say form is temporary and class is permanent. Rashford really needs to kick on this season.

“For us, it’s definitely a positive thing to have a fully-fit squad ready to start the season,” Rashford said, as per The Irish Independent.

“For me personally, it’s priceless to have the pre-season that I’ve had.

“Sometimes I don’t really take as much note of it because usually we’re playing games in the summer and stuff like that, so the next season sort of just rolls onto the previous season.

“But this year I’ve had time to break, rest, recover mentally and physically, and then I’ve had a proper pre-season.

“I feel really happy. I’m pleased that I managed to do that.”

It looks like he has a manager in Ten Hag who will get the best out of him because this United side has shown on tour it has a clear idea of how to attack. That wasn’t the case last season – under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
