Harry Maguire has been a rock at the back on pre-season tour.
For all the disrespect that was shown towards Maguire in Melbourne last week, the skipper has the backing of his new manager and I think he will have a much better season than last.
As fans, I think we are being totally counter-productive with our time unless we are getting behind the team and the players. It’s a new season and Erik ten Hag is giving his players a fresh slate under his management.
Maguire was arguably the best defender on the pitch today.
He made several crucial challenges in the first half, but his best came after the interval.
On the 63rd minute, Aston Villa substitute and goalscorer Leon Bailly was played through on goal. The winger was able to go around David de Gea and had an open net in front of him.
That was until Maguire leapt into action, making a brilliant block to deny Bailly his second goal of the evening.
