Manchester United has been on a downward form spiral since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as manager. We have looked good at times but haven’t been able to reach the massive standards that were created regularly during the Ferguson era. However, it has been near impossible, with other teams getting better.
As a result, betting on Manchester United is like throwing caution to the wind whenever you want to play an online casino real money game. So, you have to take the time to check before you go with the team. Unlike before, the match will likely end with a Manchester United win.
During Fergie’s era, the team won 13 Premier League trophies. However, since his retirement, the team only got close twice, and they were far from the first position on both occasions. Therefore, we can see that United is not what it used to be, and something needs to be done.
The team has spent billions on transfers and gotten numerous managers to stabilise the ship. However, everything hasn’t worked because they’ve only managed to win a few trophies that many fans won’t consider major. Therefore, the quest for glory continues as the team finds its feet.
Since 2017, the team hasn’t even gotten any trophies. Therefore, the fans are becoming impatient, and as a result, they would expect Erik ten Hag to take the team to a better level. We expect them to find more players to help the team with the new season.
So, with the transfer window still open, there are three players we think Manchester United can sign to help them become more competitive.
Frankie de Jong
One of the best players that Manchester United can sign is Frankie de Jong. After impressing playing in Ajax, the Dutch player moved to the Spanish La Liga to continue his journey with Barcelona. However, the player hasn’t impressed since he went to Spain. But, we can all see his incredible talent.
Any fan watching De Jong play would know that the player has much to offer. Therefore. We think he should be one of the top targets for Manchester United. The player would have a lot to offer the team in the midfield, and in addition to that, he would be a perfect replacement for Paul Pogba.
FDJ is a player we would love to see in Manchester. And since he already played under Ten Hag, it would be an exciting reunion between the coach and the player. Therefore, we would continue to see how his situation with Barcelona goes…
One of the most sought-after youngsters in England is Declan Rice, who is already a proven defensive midfielder that can continue to provide the needed cover over the defensive line. In that case, we would expect the player to eventually make a move to a top team and moving to United is a great fit.
Even though his preferred club is Chelsea, Declan Rice to Manchester United would be a great buy. The player would have to quite a lot to do for the team. We would need to see him play for Manchester United. He would solve the defensive midfield problem that has been plaguing the team for many seasons.
The only problem now is that the money to get this player would be high. Therefore, the team would have to pay a huge fee to bring the youngster to Old Trafford. But if they can reach an agreement, we believe it would be an incredible buy that would send the team to a great height and improve their style.
Finally, on our list, we think the team also needs a prolific striker that can convert chances and enter spaces to get to half chances. Therefore, Robert Lewandowski fits the profile perfectly, and we think he would work well with Ten Hag in the team. The Polish striker is a prolific goal scorer. So, he would help the team score more goals.
They can even get better with the new tactics that would be used, especially with Lewandowski on the team. Lewandowski would bring experience to the team, and the youngsters can learn from how he plays and his scoring ability. Although he might not provide a long-term solution to the team, he would be a good buy.
With the competition in the league next season, Manchester United needs to find a solution to their goalscoring problems. So, we think Lewandowski should be their target. Although we understand that he is in his 30s and might want Champions League football, he would be an asset to the team at the right price.
