Manchester United starlet attracts interest from England, Spain and Switzerland

Manchester United starlet Alvaro Fernandez is preparing to go on loan for the 2022/23 season.

The young full-back, who was voted Manchester United’s U23 Player of the Year, is interesting a number of clubs across Europe.

Club insider Jonathan Shrager claims Fernandez is being targeted by clubs in England, Spain and Switzerland. He tweeted: “In terms of loan moves this season for Manchester United’s Alvaro Fernandez, there is currently interest from clubs in England, Spain and Switzerland.”

The Spaniard was rewarded for his progress in the youth teams with a call-up to the first-team squad in April, when Ralf Rangnick invited Fernandez along with Alejandro Garnacho and Shola Shoretire to train with the senior players.

Now it only makes sense to send him out on loan – whether that is to a club in the Championship or further abroad. We can only presume that is why he didn’t make the 31-man squad for this summer’s pre-season tour.

Fernandez has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League, but he was named on the bench for the final four games of last season.

As a left-back, the arrival of Tyrell Malacia would only see Fernandez fall down the pecking order. It makes sense to give him the opportunity to go out on loan and raise his stock as a young talented full-back.

  1. Sell AWB, move Brandon Williams as back up to Dalot, let Alvaro Fernandez & Tyrell Malacia fight it out with Shaw for LB spot. Shaw’s performances had deteriorayed so badly for the last 3 seasons it won’t be a surprise if he ended up being 3rd choice LB or sold next summer.

    1. I think ur opinion a bit weak.
      1. Keep AWB keep shaw as primary selection. Keep alex telles and dalot as rotation squad player and malacia as understudy
      2. Make brandon william and malacia on cameo and injury cover..
      Send young boys for loan.
Dont sell. Why?? Because ETH just said.
      He got very good squad.

  2. AWB can be given a new role either as a CB or DM. This is because hes so confortable with the ball, good at tackling, good on, one on one and abit faster than both Maguire and lindelof. Relate it to kimich’s situation.
