Harry Maguire sends message to United fans after ‘amazing’ welcome to Bangkok

Harry Maguire has been active on social media since returning to pre-season training this summer. The England international will be keen to rediscover his best form in a United shirt because he has been miles below bar for the past 12 months.

While it remains to be seen whether he will keep the role as first-team captain next season, Maguire is expected to play a part in Erik ten Hag’s plans as it is thought that he wants to play with centre-backs who can carry the ball out of defence to help start quick transitions in attack.

Maguire was named among the 31-man squad to go on the first leg of the pre-season tour in Thailand earlier this week, with a host of academy graduates given a crash course in what it is like to be part of the senior set-up under Ten Hag.

The first pre-season friendly match takes place on Tuesday against Liverpool.

However, Maguire has jumped to Twitter to send a message of appreciation to the United fans in Bangkok who greeted them with an “amazing” welcome.

The current skipper wrote: “Thank you for the amazing welcome to Bangkok, appreciate all the support. Straight into a great team session to kick off #MUTOUR22. #mufcman”

I haven’t seen that #mufcman hashtag before but each to their own!

Maguire also shows pictures of United’s training camp in Thailand for the coming days.

Hopefully they all take the chance to get minutes on the pitch and avoid any niggles or injuries in the process.
