Manchester United are in the market to sign a centre-back this summer as part of Erik ten Hag’s revolution at the club and Lisandro Martinez, the Ajax star, has been heavily linked with a move.
The 24-year-old was signed by Ten Hag in 2019 and quickly became a mainstay in the Dutchman’s side, featuring at left-back, centre-back and defensive midfield.
Ten Hag has previously been inclined to sign versatile players and that theme has been carried over to Old Trafford, with United submitting two offers to sign Martinez.
Their latest bid of €50m was believed to be close to Ajax’s asking price for the Argentina international but journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano’s update suggests otherwise.
Manchester United have still no full agreement with Ajax for Lisandro Martinez. New bid worth €50m, not enough yet – but talks will continue as Lisandro wants to try Premier League experience this summer. 🔴 #MUFC

As per the report, United are yet to find an agreement with Ajax over Martinez and it has also been confirmed that the €50m bid was deemed to not be enough by the Amsterdam club.
A deal is not dead in the water, however, with the Italian journalist claiming that talks will continue between the sides and that Martinez is keen on joining the Premier League. The next days are believed to be crucial.
SN’s verdict…
United’s pursuit of Frenkie de Jong has been incredibly frustrating for supporters and the club will be desperate to avoid a similar situation in this case.
Ajax’s position is, however, understandable. They have already lost their manager and a number of key players this summer, including their top goalscorer.
They are unlikely to be easily persuaded but Ten Hag is evidently determined to land Martinez this summer. He’ll hope that a deal is completed sooner rather than later.
As usual, man united are only link with players but not securing them.Honestly I am frustrated by man united
We want more signings not four only we love our Team we dont want others Teams to be defeating us .
