Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign RB Leipzig striker Brian Brobbey.

The 20-year-old started his career at Ajax under Erik ten Hag but left them to join RB Leipzig on a free transfer last summer. However, after struggling to settle in Germany, Brobbey rejoined the Dutch giants on loan in January this year and contributed to their latest Eredivisie triumph.

Brobbey enjoyed himself playing under Ten Hag after scoring seven goals and registering one assist in eleven games. There are now suggestions the duo could be reunited at Old Trafford this summer.

According to the Daily Mail, United have now been offered the chance to sign Brobbey from Leipzig for £17 million.

The young Dutch striker has been heavily linked with a permanent return to Amsterdam this summer, but it sounds like he is now being offered to bigger clubs like United to raise interest.

His return to Amsterdam went to plan as Brobbey became a player Ten Hag could rely on. In the closing weeks of the title race with PSV Eindhoven, he began to realise his potential as he scored four goals in his final five league games.

With doubts lingering over Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at United, it makes sense that the club would look at strikers in the transfer market, though the manager wants to stick to players he knows this summer. As a result we’ve been linked with an endless amount of Ajax players this summer, as well as Frenkie de Jong, who came through the club’s famous academy before joining Barcelona in 2019.

  1. I would rather prefer the coach signing him because age is no longer on the side of christen Ronaldo.
